Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis of Huntsville, AL is currently seeking a full-time Space Flight Operations Specialist with flight operations and integrations experience.

The Space Flight Operations Specialist is responsible for performance of engineering and analysis services spanning all phases of the system life cycle through integration, verification, and database maintenance of operational data. As examples of the tasks and responsibilities for this position, the Specialist will be expected to: 

  • Develop associated operational data products (i.e., l-load data sets) from the database
  • Provide real-time operational console support to include, but not limited to, test and flight usage of l-load data sets
  • Perform other duties authorized to ensure the full operational capability of the l-load dataset maintenance and use

This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday, 8 hours.


Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline with five (5) years or more experience or a master's and three (3) years or more experience

  • Must understand government requirements and standards
  • Must have extensive knowledge of software engineering principles, processes, tools, and techniques
  • Must have working knowledge of Version Control tools such as Subversion, Git, DOORS, and Serena Business Manager repositories
  • Must have working knowledge of CMMI and other process improvement models
  • Must understand the engineering development lifecycle
  • Must have experience working with Avionics systems
  • Must have minimum of 5 years of space flight operations and integration experience (e.g., pre-launch, launch countdown, flight operations, ground processing, space station, flight hardware test) to support development and review of Launch Commit Criteria and operational maintenance requirements
  • Must have working knowledge of Operational Maintenance and Requirements for space flight systems
  • Must have working knowledge of Launch Commit Criteria for space flight systems
  • Experience with MS Office products desired
  • U.S. citizenship is required
