Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis of Huntsville, AL is currently seeking a full-time Mid to Senior Level Software Engineer with software design and development experience in support of SDLC activities.

  • Provides software engineering design and development expertise in support of project software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities
  • Designs and develops Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) simulation software
  • Implements C and C++ Linux applications
  • Follows established processes and procedures
  • Develops necessary engineering documentation
  • Delivers completed software implementations
  • Participates in peer reviews

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours with core hours from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. 


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related area from an accredited college or university, is required
  • 6 - 12 years of overall software design and development experience in support of SDLC activities, is required
  • Experience with Unix/Linux OS is required
  • Implementation of C and C++ applications is required
  • Familiarity with software design/development engineering techniques and best practices
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle activities
  • Customer-focused, service-based approach to daily responsibilities
  • Knowledge of engineering technical terms
  • Must be a self-starter who knows how/where to go to find answers
  • Ability to organize and gather technical information and summarize into the appropriate technical documentation
  • A success-oriented, resourceful, confident individual who effectively applies lessons learned
  • Team skills to facilitate software engineering activities to quickly resolve problems
  • Team player with an understanding of team dynamics and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
  • Available for occasional travel (up to 10%)

Experience with the design and development of simulation software solutions and any familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP networking, or Eclipse IDE would be a plus! Knowledge of Government standards and requirements and exposure to CMMI and other process improvement models would be helpful.

While much of your work is technical and analytical in nature, a service-minded attitude and people skills are also essential to your success in this position. In addition to collaborating with other employees and departments, you will work closely with our customer to assist them in achieving their goals.
